A Behavior-Responsive Users-Grouping Method for Realizing Immediate Countermeasures for Unknown Cheating
This invention provides a method of automatically analyzing players' operation log data for isolating cheaters who use unknown cheating methods or cheating methods that are difficult to detect so that those cheaters become invisible to ordinary users and for alerting a game administrator to the emergence of those cheaters. According to this invention, considering that operation data of players who use the same cheating tool commonly involve behavior specific to that cheating tool, players are grouped in accordance with the similarity of operation data. There are two methods of utilizing such groups. One is an emergency notification to the game administrator. For each group generated, the possibility of cheating being conducted (cheating probability) is calculated from status information of the players classified into that group, and when the number of players classified into a group having a high possibility increases, the game administrator is notified of the possibility of the emergence of an unknown cheating method. The other is isolation of cheaters. Cheaters are isolated from ordinary users by restricting the range of mutual reference of information among players only to within each group. Specifically, when candidates for assistance from other players called "supporters" or "helpers" are displayed or when candidates of "friends" are displayed, candidates are recommended from within a group based on the similarity of operation data. A technical feature of this invention is that an immediate response to an increase in actions using an unknown cheating method is automatically realized through unique weighting processing that combines two kinds of processing, namely, processing for automatically assigning high weights to unusual, specific behavior and processing for controlling weights in accordance with the times elapsed after individual operations are performed.
