Inverse AR: Cyber-Physical Integrated Graphic Rendering Method for Combining Graphic Presented on Smartphone Display with Graphic Printed on Physical Card
This invention provides a method in which, when a transparent card partially having a graphic printed on it is placed on the touchscreen of a smartphone, an application automatically recognizes the position and orientation of the graphic on the card and displays content in such a manner as to be coordinated with the graphic. The seamless coordination between a physical card and a smartphone display according to this invention enables a presentational effect that looks as if the card external to the display were being seen by a character in a game. According to this invention, a plurality of conductive rubber points are provided on the bottom face of a card, which enables, through a touch event on a touchscreen, identification of the kind of graphic on the card and recognition of the orientation of the card and the position of the card on the touchscreen. A technical feature of this invention consists in that a coordinate transformation matrix (affine transformation) that serves as parameters for enlarging, reducing, rotating, and/or moving the content to be presented on the display is generated in accordance with the result of recognition of the card information, and an animation seamlessly coordinated with the graphic on the card is rendered on the display.
